Food Photographers showcase food, whether cooked or not. The photograph must suggest something, give you desire, trigger a craving. But beyond what is photographed, you must convey a mood, choose the tones and accentuate the materials. One of the main difficulties is the time constraints of the shooting. Some preparations are short-lived; the food reacts poorly to the increased temperature due to the lighting. Some photographers are therefore compelled to use special effects (varnishes, gels, lubricants, wax, etc.) to maintain or create the desired effect.
