Conservator-Restorer in Ceramics and Glass

Conservator-restorers in ceramics and glass work on all types of ceramics (terracotta, earthenware, sandstone, porcelain) and glass (crystal, stained glass, enamel).

Their work has several steps:

Cleaning and ungluing: any traces of dirt or glue; carefully removing any old restorations. Gluing: the different pieces of ceramic, which then must dry for several hours. Closing gaps and missing pieces: filling cracks and splinters. Moulding of missing shapes. Sanding: unifies the areas and makes the surface of the ceramic even and flat to the touch. Painting and redoing the decor. Glazing
