The environment artist is specialized in all that related to decor and surrounding: architecture elements, natural elements, transportation, and so on. H eplays a vital role in the colour rendering, and gives an artistic vision to the project as a whole.

He must possess a diverse and wide image culture in movies, photography, video game, that will lead him to deliver his expertise in colour composition, textures, volumes, anatomy, or even proportions.

The mattepainting is a numerical process which consists in painting or touching up a decor already existing to give it a more realistic turn. The mattepainter creates or adds 2D visual effects to original visual sources.
