Children’s Illustrator

Children's Illustrator is the term to describe an illustrator who works in the press and publishing sectors, for children and adolescents. It is a very dynamic industry, with French illustrators being particularly well-known around the world. Children's Illustrators either illustrate texts that publishers propose, or they act as an author-illustrator by creating their own stories. Thanks to the creative space provided for images and design, the distinctive characteristics of young audiences make this area of the profession quite interesting. Children's Illustrators always work independently. They can either respond to job offers from publishers, or design projects themselves and pitch them to publishers.
