The Bachelor in cultural heritage preservation prepares for the job of cultural heritage preservation assistant in the specialties of easel painting, paper (lithography drawings, prints, engravings, books, etc.) and ceramics and glass (faience, porcelain, terra cotta, excavation objects).

The Bachelor in Cultural Heritage Preservation provides an intensive training with two main purposes :

  • Prepare students for entry into the Master in Conservation-restoration of Cultural Heritage course (painting, paper/graphic arts, ceramics/archaeology options).
  • Train students so that they may have access to careers in the field of arts and crafts : preventive conservationist or art market, antiques dealer, collection manager, bookbinder, gilder, etc.

The main aim of this course is for students to learn the basics of Conservation-restoration so that they may look at items of cultural interest with a clear understanding of issues related to the recovery and conservation of works of art, whilst following fundamental ethical principles.

At the end of the 1st semester, students choose one specialty out of the three proposed by the school.

PROGRAM +

The first year of the Bachelor in cultural heritage preservation teaches the basics of conservation-restoration and helps students select at the end of the first semester one of three specialties: painting, paper / graphic arts, or ceramics / archaeology.
